Essence of the City: Lisbon in Half a Day

Our tour which was hosted by Racquel was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, informative, and had the ability to communicate her knowledge in a very easy conversational way to us. She was very patient with Al"s disability - particularily where steps were involved at several points of interest. We would also like to compliment her driver, Francisco, who was amazingly skillful in finding (primarily for Al's benefit) a number of "close - in" parking places at various points of interest. We would like to give our strongest recommendation for the hiring of Racquel to anyone who is going to visit Lisbon and wants a professional tour guide

Raquela did an exceptional great job adapting her usual walking and driving tours to my handicapped needs and our family's time limitation! We didn't feel we were skipping things. The places she chose and the information she gave us an appreciation of the people, places and history of Lisbon.

Our tour was hosted by Anildo. He set a good pace based on our preferences and was a fantastic guide. One would never believe Anildo’s second language is english! He spoke clearly and was engaging. Anildo knows his facts and was at ease in sharing them with us. What we liked best about Anildo’s style as a guide was that he used the monuments and other sites to tell a complete story. We highly recommend Anildo.

We had an exceptional time with Raquel discovering the essence of Lisbon strolling through Baixa, Alfama and Chiado. Raquel is an amazing guide, knowledgeable and passionate, and mastering English perfectly. We talked about a number of things, from history to Portuguese culture, and other daily life things. Thanks to Raquel for this memorable morning in beautiful Lisbon and for her kindness and enthusiasm ! Warmly recommended.

Raquel was simple amazing. She took my wife and I to places you would never find on your own. Including secret elevators to avoid some very steep climbs. Went out of her way to show us some points of interest that we specifically wanted to see. Could not have been any better and Raquel certainly knows Lisbon.

We loved the three hours we spent with Raquel this morning! Although it was booked as a tour, our time with Raquel felt more like a stroll through Lisbon with an informed friend who knows Lisbon - past and present - extremely well. During our walk Raquel would point out interesting landmarks and provide their historical context that brought Portugal's history to life in a very clear, natural way. She invited our questions and her answers sparked a number of interesting conversations among us. We had many options when choosing a guide for today: we feel very fortunate to have gone with Raquel and we'd recommend her without hesitation!
