I still remember the first time I saw ancient statues, I was in the Vatican Museum and I was a child. Those marble giants were not just silent witness of their time but it seemed like I could hear their voices talking to me from the past. Was it that a decisive moment in my life? Probably it was! I graduated in Art History at Rome University and while waiting to find a "real" job I started to work as a guide and, little by little, it became my job! I've been a tourist guide since then which means …. a bit! I enjoy what I do and statues haven't stop whispering their stories to me, that, together with studies and experience, enables me to explain to you things about Rome and its history in a way you could not imagine. The really amazing thing that happens when visiting Rome is that suddenly the past becomes our present. And this is one of the things I love most about this city! The majesty and the extent of the ruins is such that will lead you in a sort of time travel in the past. This is what will happen to you if you'll decide to follow with me this tour through what was the centre of the ancient Rome and through the Empire itself. You'll discover the Flavio's amphitheatre, better known as the Colosseum, where time has been gentle and left little prove of its passing. At this point it will be easy to feel the excitement of the public while admiring gladiators' battles. Walking through the Forum which was the heart of the Empire administrative and political power you can have a real feeling of how live was in the ancient Rome. Afterwards we will go right to the top of the Palatine hill, one of the most famous places from the past, as it was where the Roman emperors lived.
