We start with visiting the 16th-century castle and its museum, dungueon and armory, from the bastions there is a breathtaking view of the city. In the old city we will see splendid Baroque houses , wrought iron balconies and shop signs, tiny churches, and the oldest Turkish minaret of Europe. The cathedral of Eger was built in the 19th century by the most famous architect of the era, and up today is one of the most beautiful ecclesiastical buildings of Hungary. The church is full of frescoes, and some statues were made by Canova. Opposite side of the chatedral is he Lyceum - presently university of Eger, with a planetariun and a baroque library. .As a highlight of the tour we invite you for a winetaste to Szépasszöny Völgy, literally the Valley of the Beautiful Women, where is the most famous winecallar row of Eger locates.
