My name is Agi. I'm a licenced tour guide with 15 years of experience in tourism. There is an old story how I became a tour guide. I was about 3 years old when I said to a group of children on the playground: "If you want to listen to me, please follow me. " And they did. Since then a lot has happened but I still say the same. I like tour guiding so much that I do not consider it as a job. It is important for me that my guests do not only have a good time, but also learn something new, understand the whys, remember tastes, and feelings. A believe that three days after the trip you will not remember which monument was built by whom and when but you will remember the feeling you felt when you saw a particular monument. I like to be part of that feeling, because that you will remember for a long time. I also know that in todays world once you have the time, money, interest, etc. to go on a holiday it has to be memorable. I'm working on your holiday. I"m a professional licenced guide in Hungary since 2004 I have a BA in economy majoring in tourism and a BA in Jewish Liturgy Dohany street Great Synagogue - certified and licenced guide Grand Circle Program Director Training Program Cosmos Tour Director training program I do not have any restrictions in regard to my guiding, except in the Parlament and in the State Opera House since only their local guides are allowed to guide.

On this tour we explore the Castle Hill Area on the Buda side focusing on primarily but not exclusively on Jewish History. We find the answers for among other questions to: - Why were the Jews next door neighbours of the king? - Why is the mikve so far from the synagogue? - The mistery of the memorial plaques - How does Houdini come to the picture?
Basically we walk from one end to the other end of the Castle Hill Area, walking on and through 800 year of (not only) Jewish history. We stop from time to time to talk about the different sites, the importance of them. We enter the medieval synagogue and some hidden courtyards, see the view from the Fishermans Bastion. No tour is complete without coffee and cake so I"ll definitely show you my favorite coffee house.

This is a walking tour. Though if you stay in the center and would like to have a private vehicle pick up and drop you off, not a problem at all, let me know. The price will change accordingly.
