Yes, I'm a human, born and raised on Earth but my heart has always been on Mars and I'm proud to say that I've called Mars "home away from home" for the last several years. I have always been fascinated by the human desire to explore and it is my hope that you will feel the same sense of wonder and fascination we humans have had with the Red Planet. Joining the Canadian Space Agency was one of my proudest moments, and a transition that has opened several new doors for me to become the first starpilot in the solar system. I was delighted that one of those doors led me down the path to plant my feet firmly on the fourth rock from the sun. Given that gravity on Mars is only about 38% that of Earth's, there are many things one can do on this planet that simply cannot be done anywhere else. Climbing higher and walking further is just the beginning. What about base-jumping from the cliffs of Valles Marineris, a canyon nearly four times longer than Earth's Grand Canyon? Perhaps you'd prefer an aerial tour through the polar crystalline clouds and over the polar icecaps as ice crystals sublimate into the atmosphere in early summer.
