Overview of your Papeete tour
Accompanied by my comprehensive commentary on everything Polynesian, past and present, we start the tour in Papeete visiting the Presidential Place, Somle street art and the Market place. We then move on to the East Coast of Tahiti with its luxuriant vegetation and abundant waterfalls including the spectacular Vaimahuta Waterfall. Turning back towards Papeete we visit Venus Point on Matavai Bay a beautiful black sand beach but also of historical importance as this is where all the European navigators stopped in the late 1700's. The view from the top of the Taharaa is one of the best on the island and we continue on to the Tomb of Pomare V, last king of Tahiti before returning to Papeete passing by the Chinese temple of Kanti A visit to the House of James Norman Hall can be organised for a small fee
