Since I was a child I was merged in the history as my grandfather was during the Second World War part of the French resistance and helped Allied pilots who crashed with their airplane to escape France by Spain. After the war my grandfather will receive a personal letter from General Dwight Eisenhower thanks him for his action. My knowledge in the First and Second World Wars were recognized by the US Army where I was in charge to organize Staff Rides and ceremonies for them. I am also a local historian consultant and participated in several TV documentaries and my name is also mentioned in several books by other historians. Overview of your Amiens tour

On the 28th of May, 1918 , General Pershing, Commanding General of the American Expeditionary Force decided to send at the request of the Allies an American division to retake the small village Cantigny in the Somme, Picardy to reduce a small salient made by the German army a few months ago. The 1st Division, the most experienced at the time was selected for the attack. It was a total victory, the first victory for an American division. The American success at Cantigny assured the French and British that American divisions could be trusted in the line against the German spring offensive to take Paris. The victory at Cantigny was followed by attacks at Chateau Thierry and Belleau Wood in the first half of July. Let's revive the memories of these difficult days through private stories, but also from historical facts. Follow in the footsteps of these people to get feelings of what they have experienced and suffered.
