Dear Visitor! Thank you for showing interest in my profile, I might be your future guide, driver and host. Let me introduce myself, I'm András (38) born and raised in the lovely city of Pécs, in southern Hungary. I've lived in the US, the Netherlands and Germany, hence I mix well and communicate effortlessly. I feel a deep affection towards my hometown, therefore I think guiding is just the right line of work for me. I am a fully licensed, wholehearted guide, who is always in high spirits and does his job with great passion. My own approach is halfway between a local historian and a comedian. I like to be aware of the fine points and always try to paint a lifelike picture of the past to be able to draw the lesson and concentrate on what the twists and turns of history teaches us about life today. I believe that Pécs is the perfect place to learn about ups and downs, prosperity, devastation, survival and resilience. This gorgeous town - the 2010 Cultural Capital of Europe, that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage - has a long and exciting history that has left it's marks all over the face of the city. Pécs has a rather unique atmosphere, climate, a certain kind of energy that has made the area not just habitable, but livable for almost 2000 years. I can show you the highlights of Pécs and introduce you to local history and arts along a walking tour in the city center. If you would be more interested in the life of this place, we can spend a whole day in Pécs diving into local craftsmanship and rejoice in the panoramic view of the city from amazing lookout points. I also offer daytrips that include not only the sightseeing program in Pécs, but discovering the surrounding area and the many centuries old wine culture, by visiting an authentic, private winery where you can taste the excellent wines that are popular and in demand in Western Europe too. We had a wonderful tour with András, who is a very attentive knowledgeable guide. As we have been in Pecs only for 2 hours he customised the tour very well, so that we made the most of our short stay and we will definitely come back to learn more.

The pleasure is mine! This tour was unlike others, there was nothing touristic about the NGO, yet it was a piece of local reality that probably tells a bit more than some museums.
