My name is Luís, but most people know me by my family name, Pena. My curiosity for traveling and knowing new cultures in the world was always evident, I've always said since I was little that when I grew up I want to become a tourist, and that's what I am nowadays. My life in tourism has already taken me to travel and get to know different realities. I started by going to the Highlands, where I worked in hospitality and various other departments, specifically in Edinburgh. I also had the possibility to check out the madness of the Balearic Islands as a hotel animator. But it was my country that I fell in love with, its history, traditions, gastronomy, and the relaxed way we always find solutions to problems. I think the main feature on my tours is my enthusiasm. My passions are to be around nature and do outdoor sports, although these days my free time is spent with my baby girl. I am a local guide in the city of Lisbon, but I know Portugal and its islands very well and for this reason, I can customize any of your tours here according to your preferences. Get to know Lisbon in a relaxed way, while I tell you travel stories. Being a storyteller is one of the main goals of a Tour Guide. I believe I can make a difference on this because of my experience and knowledge of 11 years guiding. Unfortunately, the profession of official guide is not accredited in Portugal, making anyone who has historical knowledge, supposed tour guides. There are only two entities accredited in Portugal: Snatti and Agic. I am a member of one: Snatti. I have a variety of themes in my tours: Cultural, gastronomic, historical, street art, nature, wineries, etc. So discover Lisbon's old neighborhoods with me, through themed tours and choose what you like more about it! In any tour you chose to do, I'll promise you an experience in which you'll feel like a true Lisbon local. Do not miss this opportunity, contact me and see what I have to offer! Our first stop was our most favorite, with a delicious plate of sheep, goat and cow milk cheeses, with bread and olives, as well as a lovely local wine. Our second favorite was the stop at a prior casino, where we had the Portuguese equivalent of tortilla, mussels, chickpea and cod salad and sangria. Along the way we visited several places of historic significance, including stores that have been in existence for over a hundred years, including a doll hospital, grocery, and cod/fish store. We finished the day in Lisbon with a visit to a pastry shop and the a ginja bar (cherry liqueur). All in all a lovely day. Luis was very accommodating as a guide and took into account some dietary restrictions (gluten, pork).

This tour was fantastic! It over-delivered on our expectations. Luis was a great guide taking us to some hidden gems around the city & providing cultural and historic information in between. We really enjoyed it and would recommend to everyone. There was a lot more food than we anticipated!! It was all delicious :)

If you are looking for an overall history of Lisbon and enjoying local cuisine, this is the tour for you. Luis is fantastic. He showed us around and gave us tidbits for the rest of our stay in Portugal and was very accommodating and answered all our questions. He is very conversational and informative and the time flies by I couldn’t believe we spent four hours. Highly recommend.

Due to family issues, we had a change in tour guides. Pedro was quite impressive. His knowledge of Lisbon and history of the area made for a really informative tour. The food stops were great. We loved every bite and sip. Pedro went the extra mile for us and helped us book a restaurant for dinner and took me to a special local shopping spot. Many thanks!
