Shirakawago and Gokayama Gassho farmhouse tour
Gassho farmhouses in Shirakawago and Gokayama are really amazing. Gassho literally means that palms of hands are joined together in prayers. The roofs look like a Gassho style. They are 3 or 4 story-wooden farmhouses, which are almost 200 years old. Shirakawago and Gokayama were appointed world heritage site in 1995. There are about 59 Gassho farmhouses in Shirakawago, and Gokayama Suganuma about 9 Gassho farmhouses. These Gassho farmhouses are used by their own families for their daily lives. In this tour, we will visit a Gassho farmhouse, the observation deck and the folk museum.

Takashi-san is a professional tour guide. He is knowledgeable and took care of us (9 persons) well. He helped to book seats for bus trip, and kind enough to help us rearrange the trip back with earlier bus schedule. He also recommended a nice place for lunch. I'd recommend anyone who wish to have English spoken tour guide to take his service for Kanazawa/Shirakawago tours.
