The two not to miss archaeological highlights of West Sicily!
Meeting point for our tour is the entrance of the archaeological park of Selinunte, the largest archaeological area of Europe! I will show you the three temple ruins of the Eastern hill side, the Acropolis with Selinunte's oldest temple in honor of god Apollo and part of the former Polis: the main road and foundations of punic houses dated to the 4th century b. C
Before we leave Selinunte we can have a short lunch break at Marinella Selinunte close to the beach (not included)
Than we move from Selinunte to Segesta(you have to do this with your own car)
As soon as we arrive in Segesta we start our visit with the hill side where once the city was. On the top of the city hill we see the recent excavations of the ancient Agora (main square), the ruins of the Norman period (a castle, a church and a mosque) and last but not least the Greek Roman Theatre.
The second part of our Segesta tour is dedicated to the Greek temple from the 5th century b. C. sitting on an isolated hill.

Part 2: Acropolis area with the temples A, O, C and D and the excavations along the main street of the former Polis (duration of tour in Selinunte: about 3 hours)

Transfer from Selinute to Segesta along the highway , (ca 45 min) (you will drive your car, I will drive in front of you in my car)
Part 1: visit of the hill side with ancient Agora excavations, the ruins of the Norman period and the Greek roman theatre
Part 2: Visit of the Greek temple of Segesta (duration of tour in Segesta: about 3 hours)

For the transportation from Selinunte to Segesta you have to bring your own car, there are no taxis and no public transportation)
Selinunte: inside the archaeological area we will walk and we can also use the electric cars
Segesta: Inside the archaeological area we will walk and we can use the pubblic shuttle bus.

6 € if you wish to use the electric cars that can bring us from the entrance to the Eastern Hill Side, from there to the Acropolis and than back again to the entrance (we can also use your car from the parking place of the Eastern Hill Side to the parking place of the Acropolis)
The lunch in Marinella Selinunte: We can decide together where to go, there are many nice restaurants. If you prefer just to have a sandwich: there is a caffè inside the archaeological park of Selinunte and also another one at the parking place of Segesta.
Segesta: 6 € entrance fee
€1,50 if we use the public shuttle bus to reach the hill side where once the ancient city was (we can also walk, it is a half hour walk )
