Discover the history and culture of old Dubai
Note, this is a walking tour, slow walking for about 4 hours in open area.
It's all about culture and heritage! The tour starts at Al Fahidi / Bastakya to get inspired by the architecture brought to Dubai around 1900. After visiting an art gallery we walk through the textile souk and visit the Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House, the former home and government seat of the ruling family, built in 1894. Inside, you can admire the most beautiful pictures of old Dubai and get a real glimpse of the ancient trading Port. We take a watertaxi to enjoy the wonderful Creek, the natural inland from the Arabian Gulf. After visiting the spice- and gold souk, we explore the Women's Museum, a hidden gem in Deira. It's newly opened and dedicated to everything related to Emirati women and their role in society. Here is where the tour ends. From here you can shop and have some food or drinks in the local neighbourhood. Afterwards you can take a taxi back to your hotel.
