Off the beaten track to discover some of the Dordogne's secret treasures.
For those of you tired of driving and touring this is a refreshing and relaxing day of walking through some of beautiful Dordogne woodland and countryside and exploring one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Just need some good walking boots/trainers and a sunhat.
It is easy walking along the old pathways which travel through the valley of the Vezere. Through glades and open fields.
We will walk to a beautiful Medieavale / Renaissance Chateau in a stlye typical of the region. With it's lauze roof and honey coloured stone.
Then we will head back to a beautiful village in which hosts a fortified Medieaval Abbey, it is here we will have lunch. After lunch you will discover the village and its Abbey before hanging up our boots for the day.
Along the way there will be plenty of time to explore the countryside, discuss the region, see a small truffle plantation and hear about the local customs.

We will meet at the large car park of St Amand de Coly, opposite the village. Please bring with you good walking boots/trainers, a sunhat and suncream and a bottle of water.

From here we will walk along some of the beautiful pathways to discover a hidden Medievale/ Renaissance Chateau full of charm.
(We will not be visiting the Chateau as it is closed to the public. )
Continuing our walk we will head back to St Amand de Coly where we will have lunch.
After lunch we will explore the Abbey and its surroundings. We will finish the day by visiting a delightful local store which sells produce all made within 10 km of St Amand, walnuts and walnut oil, foie gras and patés, wines and all at a resonable price.
We will part at the car park.
