Walk with me along the lake and discover a peninsula with a beautiful park and castle
This city walk shows you one of Lucerne's treasures: a public park with breathtaking views to the lake and the mountains. In summer we will cross the lake from Lucerne with a boat to the Castle Meggenhorn. In the other seasons there is a bus leading to the location.
We can first walk in the city along the lake and pass in front of the old storical hotels. It's an occasion to learn about the history of Lucerne's tourism in past centuries. We proceed by bus until Hotel Hermitage, where we start walking to the beautiful park Meggenhorn. There are some little bays, where you can have a swim in pure clean water in summertime.
We explore the surroundings of the peninsula with views to all directions over Lake Lucerne until the alps. A farm house on the ground can also to be visited. There are animals and a playground for children.
Lovers of trees, flowers, pure nature will enjoy this short trip over the other side of the bay of Lucerne.

I am a driver and can rent a car if you wish and if it makes sense. In Switzerland there is a very dense net of public transport. So, if possible, I prefer to use it.
