the golden Cathedral of William II
When people ask me 'What can I see in Sicily?' I always tell them 'You must go to Monreale!'
Monreale is a little town that is located in the hills surrounding Palermo overlooking la Concadoro, a valley that was once full of citrus fruits. Monreale is famous for its beautiful Cathedral, where inside we can find the world's most extensive golden mosaic. Furthermore, it is possible to visit the convent and the cloister which is one of the most important in europe. The duration of the visit is normally 2 hours. The visit includes access to the Cathedral and the cloister.
I'll meet you in the lobby of your Hotel. Together, we will take a taxi and within 40 minutes we will be in Monreale were we will visit the beautiful Medieval Cathedral and the Convent of the Benedictine monks. Free time for shopping and return to the hotel

Iolande was a fantastic guide who gave us an amazing insight into Palermo and Monreale. The trip to Monreale was well organised and having the flexibility to come back in our own time was important for us as we like to spend time just soaking up the atmosphere as well as learning about the place. This allowed us to spend more time at the Cathedral and have a leisurely lunch. In the end we spent most of the day in Monreale and got our own taxi back. This was a special and memorable trip.
