This walking tour will reveal outstanding Art Noveau-masterpieces in the city centre of Vienna to its participants. We will see famous sights like the Post Office Savings Bank by Otto Wagner, the beautiful "Anker"-clock or the "Loos"-house at the Michaelerplatz, which caused a huge scandal and was disdainfully called the "house without eyebrows". In addition we will discover hidden masterpieces, like the "American Bar" by Adolf Loos, the charming "Angel"-pharmacy or the strange extravagant "Zacherl"-house by Josef Plecnik.
Starting at Michaels square we will admire the "Looshaus", one of the most modern buildings set up after the beginning of the 20th century. Strolling along pedestrian zones and little lanes across the historical city center we will pass the American Bar, also built by Adolf Loos. We will discuss flats built by Otto Wagner and Josef Plecnik, admire well decorated entrances and windows of shops, office buildings or private appartement houses. The enormous decorated Anker clock will fascinate you as well as the hall of the Postsparkasse of Otto Wagner will do.
