A special treasure hunt in Venice for kids and adults
Wandering the streets of Venice is fun, but wandering with a focused purpose is even more fun!
Everywhere you go in Venice look for the winged lion in all sorts of places. You will find so many displayed on statues, gates, well curbs, door handles, church sculptures and on the flag of Venice. St. Mark is represented as a winged lion, with his paw on an open book, the gospel.
Even though the very first patron Saint of Venice was Saint Theodore, St. Mark is definitely considered the primary one, as his body was stolen by Venetian merchants and buried in the great Basilica of San Marco.
This is an orientation tour involving both touristy and non touristy areas. We will stroll around the city looking for winged lions and counting them. At the end of the tour the kids will receive a small gift.
IMPORTANT: children must be accompanied by parents/ relatives.
We will walk through the district of Santa Croce, San Polo and San Marco.
I will be glad to plan the itinerary according to your interest and comfort and pick you up from your hotel/apartment.
