Visit an area where some of the world's truly fine olive oil is produced
This tour will provide guests with an intensive learning experience as to what makes a good olive oil, how to savour it and where to use it.
A scenic drive from Valencia of only 50 minutes takes us up into a different world; the Alto Palancia region is a hidden gem for most tourists. The cooperative olive press of Viver provides all the information their expert team has gained over the years to educate our palates as to what a good olive oil tastes and feels like. After a tour of the olive press and local fields there is the option of local wine tasting then morning tea. A visit to the inside of the Mudejar bell-tower of Jerica - home to generations of bell ringer families from the 12 Century - is always a delight for children and adults. Next we head for a three course Mediterranean lunch of local products. Before heading back we can also visit the olive oil museum to experience an interactive and fascinating exhibit to learn even more about olive oil aromas plus take part in a cooking workshop.
