Visit urban homesteads - growing gardens in the suburbs with a private guide
Vancouver intends to be the Greenest City in the World by 2020.
Come spend a few hours strolling vibrant city lots featuring locally grown produce and visiting with chickens, honeybees and other small scale livestock.
This tour features visiting and interacting with at least four neighborhood urban farms within Greater Vancouver.
Witness the growing trend of "urban homesteading" and "farming in the city" at some homeowners' productive plots of land. Plus, we will check out community-based, volunteer-run gardens that are as fruitful as they are beautiful.
This farm tour is of private property and public community spaces. When available, homesteaders will talk about their growing crops, share their experiences, and answer gardening questions. This tour will change the way you look at food and the people you buy from as well as offer the perfect opportunity to solve your own growing challenges!
This tour is a rain or shine event and is a great value!
