Highlights and surrounding countryside of Amsterdam with private driver and guide

If you have some more time to spend in our wonderful city than just one day, join me on this interesting tour to taste the different aspects of life in the Netherlands: the busy diversity of a modern city with a beautiful historical center as opposed to the quiet waterland scenery just around the corner!

During this two days' tour of Amsterdam and the surrounding countryside you will discover it all: the historical citycenter of Amsterdam with its impressive 17th century canalhouses, the narrow alleys, the amazing paintings of masters like Rembrandt, Vermeer or Van Gogh as well as the famous waterland and polderscenery of the surrounding countryside, including the windmills and old fishingvillages.

On the first of these two wonderful days we will focus on the cultural highlights of Amsterdam, including a boattrip and guided visit of the Rijksmuseum or Van Goghmuseum. The second day we will spend in the surrounding countryside, including a visit to a working windmill and the former fishingvillage of Marken

Itinerary

We start from the lobby of your hotel in the citycenter.
We will spend the first day in Amsterdam, strolling around the medieval citycenter, including Red Light District, Damsquare and 17th century Unesco Heritage Canals. I will give you a tour of the highlights of the Rijksmuseum or Van Goghmuseum and after the museumtour you will board a hop on hop off canalboat on your own.

On the second day we will hire a comfortable car or minivan and driver to see the countryside around Amsterdam, visit the former Island of Marken, Zaanse Schans, the Beemster polder of the Unesco World Heritage List and the whalers' village Graft/De Rijp. You'll find out everything about the Dutch polders, the fight against the water and visit a working windmill. How did the Dutch create their low country and how did they live behind the dykes and below sealevel?

After these two days you will understand a lot more of this small country and its interesting history. You will go home with everlasting memories of a most fulfilling visit

Meeting Location + Tour Duration

Meeting location: The lobby of your hotel if it is in the citycenter or any other place in the citycenter that is convenient for you.

If you would like me to meet you at the airport, I will have to add an extra hour for the transfer and cost of the trainticket.

End location: On the first day: any place in the city center that is convenient for you and possible within the avaialable time.
On the second day: the lobby of your hotel

Duration: 2 days
