Meander in picturesque old Kakopetria. Optionally experience incredible vistas from the top of Cyprus
The main part of the trip includes :
a) visit to 11th century UNESCO World Heritage Agios Nicolaos tis Stegis painted church
b) Meander inside the picturesque old part of Kakopetria village - visit old olive and grape presses, an old church and watermill. Short walk along a shaded stream opposite the old part of Kakopetria village. Cyprus coffee on a coffee shop veranda overlooking the stream is highly recommended as is a fresh trout meal at a nearby restaurant.
Optional walk on flat 8-km 'Artemis trail' at the top of geologically unique Troodos. Walkers enjoy a unique ecosystem and incredible views of a large area of Cyprus.
From Nicosia we head south and uphill to the top of Troodos mountains for our Artemis walk. We subsequently visit Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis Unesco World Heritage painted church and/or (subject to time availability) the old part of Kakopetria village before returning to our base in Nicosia.

We spent over 11 hours with Phivos yesterday on a tour of the Greek Cypriot side of Cyprus. There are not enough superlatives to tell you how helpful and accommodating he was, taking us where we wanted to go as well as places we never had heard about. What a great guy- very informative, answered stupid tourist questions kindly, showing us the Cyprus he clearly loves. Doesn't het any better than this!!
