Live like a Muganda for a Day
This day trip aims to bring the 'Kiganda' tradition to life taking one back in time when the traditions of the Buganda Kingdom were maintained. This includes making local wine, hunting, local food preparation, games such as wrestling, plus the mysterious stories shared amongst women preparing to get married. It is deeply enriching and a discovery of the old traditional way of life.
The initiative offers an authentic visitor experience in a non-staged environment. Through active participation, visitors are able to explore and learn a lot of things. They leave with bountiful knowledge and lessons for future use.
Traditional practices in the area of music, African garden experience, talks (Senga[auntie] and Kojja[uncle]), games, hunting, bark cloth making, medicine, food preparation and dining, taboos and totems as well as religion are promoted.

What a day! So fantastic, and highly recommended full-day exposure to so many aspects of the Buganda culture. Our guide Carolyn was top-notch- friendly and informative. Her husband, James, was our driver and so friendly and knowledgeable as well. We were greeted by the community with music and dancing and the fun did not stop all day. They even planted four trees in honor of our family's visit! We traveled with our two teenage kids, and we all greatly enjoyed our day. Choose Carolyn whenever you can!
