Jerusalem - an Architectural walking tour.

Prior to becoming a Tour Guide nine years ago I was an architect for a long period of time. Consequently, I have developed a deep interest in present and past structures, peceiving them to be historical documents recorded in stone. I view archaeological remains anthropomorphically and see them as unclothed buildings with some missing limbs.

Buildings are a reflection of the pervailing society and are a response to the needs and culture of that society. In addition, buildings utilize the technological innovations of the period & are influenced by the climatic, geographical & geological conditions of their enviroment. If I may quote William Morris (1834-1896), and English architect belonging to the Arts & Crafts movement who wrote the following, " Architecture is the moulding & altering to human needs of the very face of the earth itself ".

**Itinerary:**

This exceptional tour offers a rare opportunity to explore three major cities in the West Bank, each significant to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

- **First Stop:** Visit the Tomb of Abraham (the Cave of Machpelah) in Hebron, where key figures such as Abraham,Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph are believed to be buried. 

- **Second Stop:** Explore the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus and the city where King David was also born.

- **Final Stop:** Conclude the day at Tel Sultan, the ancient city of Jericho, where the walls famously fell when Joshua blew his trumpet, as described in Joshua 6.

Caesarea-Maritima - King Herod's New City

This tour focuses on the story and architecture of Caesarea and on King Herod who built a city as impressive as any in the Roman Empire and a harbor that could be used year round - this is not your ordinary tour of Caesarea, if you liked Masada you'll love this site.
