The Tunnels of Cu Chi: A Walk Through History and Resistance

The Vietnam War is known by many as one of the most controversial, lengthy, costly, and divisive conflicts between North and South Vietnam, with the involvement of the U.S. military. Located 60 kilometers northwest of Saigon, there is an underground city that was once home to thousands of North Vietnamese soldiers (also known as the Viet Cong). The tunnels were used by Viet Cong soldiers as hiding spots during the war, as well as communication centers, supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches, and living quarters for North Vietnamese fighters. The tunnel systems were of great importance to the Viet Cong in their resistance against South Vietnam and American forces. This trip offers a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of what we, as Vietnamese people, went through and how these experiences shaped who we are today.
