Washington DC Cherry Blossoms Tour

We'll meet outside the Martin Luther King Memorial Bookstore, before heading over to our newest memorial along the Tidal Basin. We'll discuss the design, history, and controversy of the Martin Luther King jr. Memorial, and see beautiful views across the cherry tree lined Tidal Basin. Then we'll stroll along the water among the trees, talking all about the history of this gift of friendship between Japan and the United States. Our next stop will be the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, which spans over seven acres! We'll discuss the design of this massive memorial, along with the accomplishments, struggles, and life of our longest serving President. Our last stop will be the imposing Jefferson Memorial, with more gorgeous cherry trees along the way, and even a glimpse across the river at the Pentagon!
