Hello! Thanks for coming to check out my info! My name is Laura. I am a Chicagoland native, but...

Do you love history and historical locations? Perhaps though, you like digging deep and learning things not covered on your standard history-book type of tours. Then this is for you! My love for St Augustine started a long time ago and it grew from being a place I visited, to a place I lived, to becoming a tour guide. Everything I learn makes me want to learn even more. Our local Historical Society has a research library and I have spent many endless days finding out as much information as I can. And being the oldest continuously occupied city in America, there is a LOT of information. So my focus is 'off the beaten path', unordinary, not commonly talked about facts of our little town, which includes neat places to see and visit. Your visual experience will include in person as well as old maps and images. Seeing these things on foot, on location is really the best way! Please come join me in our intriguing and fascinating and beautiful St Augustine.
I do not want to give too many "secrets" away prematurely but I WILL give you an idea of what this entails. It is a walking tour, but half of it is standing and learning about the spot we are at. We will start in the north end of the downtown historic district, near the location of the Old City Gates. We will then travel down Cordova St, aka Tolomato in olden days. We are focusing some of the tour on when we were a walled city, so this path follows that somewhat. We will go down by the Plaza de la Constitucion area, & end there, along the bayfront and Bridge of Lions. This walking is about a mile to mile and 1/2. We can of course stop anytime if you need it as well as there will be sitting available a few times. Please know that this tour is customizable: if you'd like to go a little longer & hear more, or include the Castillo de san Marcos for instance, or stop for a snack, I am up for it!

Most areas are wheelchair/walker friendly and if needed I will walk us to the best paths. Be aware though, this town is over four hundred years old and many historic streets and walkways may be narrow and/or uneven. So secure footwear is always recommended.
28 Orange Street, St. Augustine, Florida, 32084 United States
The meet up spot is the corner of Orange St and Cordova St. That intersection has only one corner that has grass and trees etc and that is where we meet! Behind us would be Huguenot Cemetery, so that you know the correct corner. Diagonally from Potter's Wax Museum. (sometimes, some peoples GPS takes you to a bar named Anne O'Malleys. It is NOT there lol. Just the open grassy corner)
