Well 2021 has definitely been a wild ride but waaay better than 2020! The continued closure of the Canadian border limits our touring options to the Alaskan side of the Border only, but the Skagway Valley and neighboring Dyea Valley are full of amazing options to explore and rich in history. See for yourself what a great place we have to be stuck during a pandemic! Share the fishbowl experience with a true Skagwegian! Our drive to the Summit and Welcome to Alaska sign parallels the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad which can offer some great photo opportunities to catch the train in action. When Skagway gets to wild and crazy locals take the windy coastal road to the Dyea valley to look for seals swimming in the river next to the road or to camp on the flats. Dyea was a bustling city of 10, 000 during the Gold Rush and is now a ghost town with only one false front left. If we have time to spare we can add a walk in the wood or visit the slide cemetery in Dyea.
Tour is customized entirely for your group. Some photo stops are always provided and others may be added based on interest and time availability. I am always open to personal requests and happy to discuss options before you book your tour. Stops we typically make include: *Denver Valley *Rocky point, Brackett's wagon road and White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad tracks *Pitchfork Falls and Goat Lake Hydro Pipeline *Bridal Veil Falls and White Pass City valley *Moore Creek Bridge *Welcome to Alaska Sign *White Pass Summit *Gold Rush Cemetery *Lower Reid Falls (requires a short hike on rough trail so this is limited to those with sound mobility) *Scenic city overlook *Nahku Bay overlook *Dyea Overlook *Chilkoot trailhead *Taiya River Bridge *Road to Dyea Townsite Depending on ability and how much free time we may have there may be several options: *Option to walk in the woods at the old Dyea Townsite area (flat trail with smooth path) *Option to stop at the Slide Cemetery in Dyea
