Overview of your Savannah tour:

Take a good long look and enjoy the view, time travelers! Savannah has many unique characteristics. One of them is the fact that you can walk in a straight line from north to south and move visibly forward in time. We won't really warp so much as amble from where it all began, the Savannah River, to the Historic District's southern extreme, Forsyth Park. We'll be starting in 1733, hopping ahead and sideways through the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, and ending where the city ended at the start of the Civil War. If you so choose, you can also take an hour for lunch (bringing the total duration up to 5 hours) and/or tour one museum along our route. You will have to pay separately for their admission. If you pick one of the house museums, their guided tours typically run one hour long.

Your Savannah tour itinerary

Meet on River Street at the back of City Hall Come up the stairs either at City Market or Johnson Square and begin working our way southward Continue down Bull Street and possibly also Abercorn, taking in the sites and learning about the city's growth in the 18th and 19th centuries as exhibited by its surviving architecture Travel through probably 6-9 of Savannah's historic Squares, depending on the pace you set End at Forsyth Park, the most popular park in Savannah You may choose to leave me for a while to tour one of the museums. You may also stop for lunch at a restaurant of your choosing or my recommendation partway through the tour. If the weather is uncooperative, we can delay our start time to see if it clears up or see if it's possible to reschedule.
