The events of September 11, 2001 were a tragedy for New Yorkers felt around the world. Together we'll visit the new World Trade Center site and surrounding area. We'll see and hear what's there, what's planned and how the National 9/11 Memorial design encompasses, recognizes and reflects the lives of the almost 3, 000 victims we lost on that fateful day. We'll see the little chapel that stood (St. Paul's Chapel) and learn about its role on 9/11 and can also see less prominent, often missed memorials like those for FDNY and NYPD, as well as the Eleven Tears Memorial. As much as the memorial site was a place of hurt and loss, it's all a place of hope, renewal and our commitment and ability to thrive for generations to come.
Start at St. Paul's Chapel (the little chapel that stood). See, and perhaps hear, the new-to-the-church organ (subject to daily closure and security screening). We will also see (subject to daily closure): - World Trade Center Site - National 9/11 Memorial (Memorial Pools) - One World Trade Center ("Freedom Tower") - Oculus - Brookfield Place - Eleven Tears Memorial The itinerary can be customized upon request.
