Embark on a journey through time and marvel at the splendor of Grand Central Terminal - its Beaux Arts design is an indelible part of New York City's identity. The remarkable stories of the visionaries who brought this architectural marvel to life and those who safeguarded its existence illustrate just how special it is to the city. Venturing through the hustle and bustle of an active transportation hub, you'll explore the terminal's enigmatic secrets concealed in plain sight, waiting to be revealed. You'll discover a haunted cocktail lounge, the birthplace of TV news, and learn about the origin of the famed red carpet, among the place's many fascinating features. For example, the iconic main concourse contains several interesting elements and secrets that will be shared on the tour. As beautiful as it is, there is so much to Grand Central Terminal that is truly captivating. Take a look and see why it's so much more than simply a "pretty face. "
-We'll begin the tour outside the Terminal to observe the beautiful exterior of the building discussing famous family that started the railroad system that helped build the city. -Next to the building, at the pedestrian plaza, more features of the facade will be discussed. -We'll continue inside, addressing its history, the disaster that launched the current facility's creation & the man who made it happen. -We'll then head to the terminal's east side, which presents more secrets, such as the remnants of a movie theatre and surprising creatures on the exterior. -Later, we'll move down to see the famous Oyster Bar and experience the whispering gallery. -Afterwards, we'll go to a surprising sports club. -Next, we'll get to the Italianate private office that became a cocktail bar. -After that, a very long escalator will take us to new train platforms and we'll see beautiful artwork deep below the terminal. -At last, we'll see one final artwork in the MetLife building and conclude the tour in the main concourse.
