Los Angeles, The Diverse City - Private Half Day Tour

As a former actress and woman of color, I was frustrated with the focus of conventional tours and wanted a more diverse and balanced experience. On this tour, we'll encompass the cultures and communities that founded the great city of Los Angeles. From the original indigenous tribes, the Mexicans, Spaniards, Africans, the Chinese, the Italians, the French and others, we'll learn of diverse people trying to build a city. Reaching Hollywood, we will explore the contributions of artists of color, learning about their struggles, their triumphs and their legacies. We will explore how segregation and immigration policies influenced Los Angelenos, particularly those who came here to work in the arts. These artists impacted more than our film and television screens. Their work influenced and inspired the Civil Rights movement and the dreams of countless young people worldwide.
