USS Arizona Memorial and Honolulu City Tour

This tour brings up to 4 travelers to the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor National Memorial and the State Capitol Historic District with a local guide well versed in the history, architecture, and culture of Hawai'i.

The National Park Service program for the USS Arizona Memorial begins at Pearl Harbor Memorial Theater. The tour includes a detailed orientation, a 23-minute documentary film, and a Navy-operated shuttle boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial.

In addition, travelers will have an opportunity to visit the USS Bowfin Submarine & Museum. After Pearl Harbor and a lunch break, travelers will be given a brief tour of the State Capitol Historic District, which includes views of the Iolani Place, Kamehameha Statue, State Capitol Building, and much more.

The tour will also include a stop at the National Memorial Cemetery of the the Pacific (Punchbowl Crater).

Join me in this tour to explore the history between Japan, America, and the Western World. 

Our visit to Pearl Harbor includes a film documenting the events leading up to and including the attack on Pearl Harbor. Guests will then be delivered to the Arizona Memorial, a structure spanning the fallen battleship memorializing the more than 2000 lives lost on Dec. 7, 1941. Our tour will then take us to Punchbowl, The National Memorial Cemetery to the Pacific. Continuing up the Ko'olau's we will visit the Pali lookout, then make our way back to town with stops at Iolani Palace, King Kamehameha statue and Hawaii's Capitol Building. 

Commercial reservations to the Arizona Memorial cannot be guaranteed. In the event I do not have reservations in hand we will need to use the standby system. Access to AZ tickets are not a contributing factor to tour price. US Navy will suspend Arizona tours due to high winds, other weather events, or security threats, I can not be held responsible.

These tours give you enough time for two activities (approx. 1. 5 hours) and, with some routes, even more! You can be picked up or dropped off at or nearby any hotel, cruise ship, or airport.  There is an additional $115 fee for luggage not included in this price.

Each tour is 100% private and custom. However, many locations on the island now require reservations or have restrictions. If you look through the tour photos you will see a picture of the van used. The vehicle is comfortable, clean, and equipped for sand and water, so you can just kick back and relax.

Learn from the excellent displays in the visitor center, view a film on the day "which will live in infamy", and visit the USS Arizona Memorial by crossing the harbor aboard a Navy vessel. You can then either visit the Southeast side of Oahu, with its beautiful coastline and scenery or the North Shore - your choice.

As an authorized tour guide at Pearl Harbor, I will reserve the tickets for you and your party. I will provide historical information during our ride to Pearl Harbor and I will provide guidance on how to navigate at the visitor center. I won't be able to go with you to the memorial, or any of the exhibits. Approx. 1 1/2 hours.

Once there, I will share my expert advise on how to best navigate the area to maximize your time. I'll direct you to the two main exhibits and towards the 23-minute documentary about the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I'll also give you your tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial!

Also on this tour, we will go to Ford Island, where we'll step onto the USS Missouri, tour the battleship and view the signed peace document. As we conclude our tour, we will stop by the Iolani Palace, the only official royal residence in the United States and the renowned King Kamehameha Statue.

USS Arizona & USS Missouri - Pearl Harbor Shore Excursion

Visit Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona - the most popular site on all of Oahu. Learn about the events leading up to this infamous day and the impact it made on an entire generation. You'll hear a pre-recorded lecture by an historian discussing why the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and I'll share my knowledge about the historical events surrounding that day.

When we arrive at Pearl Harbor, I'll give you pointers on how to best utilize your time and make the most of your experience, and provide you with tickets for the navy shuttle to the Memorial. Then we head over to the USS Missouri on Ford Island.

Before we head back, we'll drive through Punchbowl Cemetery with its panoramic views of Honolulu, Diamond Head and large wall murals that tell the stories of American military engagements throughout the Pacific. We stop by the Iolani Palace, home to the last reigning monarch of Hawaii, and the only official royal residence in the United States, and the renowned King Kamehameha Statue, featured on Hawaii 5-0
