Step into the past of Colorado’s most iconic mountain town & National Park exploring Estes Park & Rocky Mountain National Park. Once in RMNP, we’ll visit key locations tied to its formation, dive into the legacy of conservationists like Enos Mills & uncover the cultural & natural history that makes it so special. We'll also explore the fascinating story of the town's foundation & the pioneers who helped shape it. I'll share the backstory of the Stanley Hotel too, a Georgian-style building that played a vital role in establishing Estes Park as a resort destination & inspired Stephen King's "The Shining". As a Colorado native & passionate storyteller, I’ll guide you through landmarks & scenic stops, telling you of the tales, facts & characters that bring the region to life. Perfect for first-time visitors, history lovers & anyone curious about how Estes Park & RMNP became the Rockies' crown jewels. Come away with a deeper connection to the mountains & the stories etched into every peak, trail & corner.
-Once we've gathered, we'll begin our journey exploring the rich history, architectural grandeur and artistic legacy of the iconic Stanley Hotel, built in 1909 by Freelan Oscar Stanley. -As we traverse downtown Estes Park, we'll discover landmarks that chronicle the town's evolution from a rugged settlement to a vibrant gateway to the Rockies. -Entering Rocky Mountain National Park, we'll visit the Moraine Park Museum, originally the Moraine Park Lodge built in 1923, which offers insights into early tourism and conservation efforts. -Journeying along Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous paved highway in the U.S., we'll reach the Alpine Visitor Center at 11,796 feet, providing panoramic views and exhibits on the alpine tundra ecosystem. -Finally, our tour will end where it began. This completes the circle. Special requests for finishing locations can be accommodated, within reason. If you are staying in Estes and would like to be dropped off at your hotel or a restaurant, that is also ok with me!

You have flexible options for transportation on this tour. I can be your chauffeur as we explore Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park together. My vehicle is a Ford F-250 Super Duty, which can accommodate up to 4 people, including me. It has all the modern amenities, but it is a tall truck. If you have your vehicle and would prefer me to accompany you in it, let me know, and I could customize this tour for you for a different cost.
2576 North Saint Vrain Avenue, Estes Park, Colorado, 80517 United States
We’ll meet at the iconic Estes Park sign on Highway 36, just before you officially enter town. I’ll be there to greet you and start the tour with a professional photo of you and your group in front of the Estes Park sign. If you're not interested in the Estes Park sign, the next ideal meeting location would be the Estes Park Visitor Center, located at 645 CO-7, Estes Park, CO 80517. If you are staying in town, I can also meet you at your hotel or rental. Just let me know!
