BUCKINGHAM PALACE: Buckingham Palace is still the official residence of Britain's monarchy, as it has been since Queen Victoria's designation in 1837. Much of the Buckingham Palace was constructed as early as 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham. Buckingham House (as it was then known) was purchased in 1762 by George III, who used it as a private residence. Over the following 75 years the house was expanded to form three wings around a central courtyard. Ready to hear behind the scene stories?

CAMDEN TOWN: Camden Town where you will fall in love with the dynamics of this lovely town. This city is just a cultural sanctuary for teens, tourists and punks. Live music in alternative and old-school clubs and major stars at the Jazz Cafe and the Roundhouse are part of the flourishing nightlife scene. CHANGING OF THE GUARD: The Queen's Guard and Queen's Life Guard (called King's Guard and King's Life Guard when the reigning monarch is male) are the names given to contingents of infantry and cavalry soldiers charged with guarding the official royal residences in the United Kingdom. The British Army has regiments of both Horse Guards and Foot Guards predating the English Restoration (1660), and since the reign of King Charles II these regiments have been responsible for guarding the Sovereign's palaces.

CHARLES DICKENS MUSEUM: The British novelist, journalist, editor, illustrator and social commentator, Charles Dickens is famous for such beloved classic novels as Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol, Nicholas Nickleby, David Copperfield, A Tale of Two Cities and Great Expectations. His dedicated building at 48 Doughty Street was founded by the Dickens Fellowship, in 1902. The mansion was renovated and the Dickens House Museum was opened in 1925, under the direction of an independent trust. Let's explore!

CUTTY SARK: This masterpiece of naval engineering, Cutty Sark, represents the pinnacle of clipper ship design and was one of the fastest ships of its day. Aged 14 years, Cutty Sark started recording remarkably fast passage times, under her Master Richard Woodget, and became the dominant ship in bringing wool from Australia to England. Cutty Sark was built for China tea trade but would carry a vast array of cargoes during its career. Well I have a sad story about the Ferrari of the Seas :(

CABINET WAR ROOMS: The Churchill War Rooms is a historic underground complex and museum that housed a British government command centre throughout the Second World War, and the Churchill Museum, a biographical museum exploring the life of British statesman Winston Churchill. Here you will have the chance to discover the secrets hidden beneath the streets of Westminster in the underground nerve centre where Winston Churchill and his inner circle directed the Second World War. DOWNING STREET NO 10: Being one of the most important political buildings in the world United Kingdom's White House Number 10 continuously hosts the British prime ministers since 1735. The main decisions affecting Britain's destiny in the last 275 years have seriously been taken behind its iconic black door. Today it's not possible to enter the street as a tourist but knowing the idea that an actual prime minister lives and works in the street is a heart beating. Have this experience with me.

FORTNUM & MASON: F&M is the trademark of quality products in England. From a small grocery store in Piccadilly in 1707, has grown a celebrated store with an international reputation for the exclusivity and quality of the products it sells. Fortnum's Food Hall is an irresistible display of gourmet pleasures, from chocolates and biscuits to smoked salmon and Stilton, vintage marmalade and seasonal produce. HAMPTON COURT PALACE: What a brilliant Royal saga. Hampton Court Palace, also known as Hampton Court, Tudor Palace in Richmond Upon Thames, Greater London Borough. It faces the northern bank of the Thames River. In the 1520's, Cardinal Henry VIII (reigned 1509-47) gave the palace to Thomas Cardinal Wolsey, who enlarged it for his preferred residence. Throughout its large grounds trees and shrubs have been planted, and several buildings. Ready to travel between the centuries? You will not believe that!

HARRODS: Much of London, for the tourist anyway, is historical. Ancient buildings and centuries old monuments. Palaces and works of art from the ages. But not Harrods London. Harrods, even while its origins are from over 150 years ago, is as up to date as the latest computer. The world's greatest department store was established on its current site in 1849 by Charles Henry Harrod, a wholesale grocer. England's iconic department store is not just for shopping but for dining as well.

HMS BELFAST: HMS Belfast is the last remaining vessel of her type and one of the largest and most powerful light cruisers ever built. 80 years old HMS Belfast is now a popular museum and tourist attraction in London. Built by Messrs Harland & Wolff in 1936, HMS Belfast was launched by Anne Chamberlain, wife of the then Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, on St Patrick's Day in 1938. HORSE GUARDS BUILDING: Explore the official entrance to St James and Buckingham Palace, since the Restoration of King Charles II in 1660. Lifeguards have stood guard at Horse Guards and ready to offer you a true British ceremony. Although Changing The Queen's Lifeguard is not as well-known as Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace smaller crowds and no railings between you and the men and horses taking part make it ideal for those with younger children and those looking for some amazing pictures.

THE HOUSEHOLD CAVALRY MUSEUM: This living museum in the heart of Horse Guards in London celebrates the history and accomplishments of The Household Cavalry offering a unique 'behind the scenes' look at the work that goes into the ceremonial and armoured reconnaissance role of HM The Queen's Mounted Bodyguard. Listen to the story of the King Charles II, born on 29th May 1630, the founder of the regiment, as well as the date of a former celebration commemorating his return to England on May 29th 1660.

HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT: The Houses of Parliament, known also as the Palace of Westminster is where the two Houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (the House of Lords and the House of Commons) conduct their sittings. The Houses of Parliament (Palace of Westminster) lie on the north bank of the River Thames in the London borough of the City of Westminster, close by other government buildings in Whitehall. This incredible building hides very important stories. Want to hear them all?

HYDE PARK: Hyde Park, perhaps most famous for the Speaker's Corner, where citizens stand atop a soapbox and shout their views to the crowd, but there's much more to see and do in Hyde Park than listen to political opinions. The land forming Hyde Park was first acquired by Henry VIII from the monks of Westminster Abbey in 1536. While Henry used Hyde Park for deer hunting, the horseback riding today is strictly not for sport. On a sunny day, this is the park you will relax.

IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM: The minute you enter the world-famous museum you will immediately realize that countless discoveries await you at each distinguished galleries. Imperial War Museum is a national museum serving as a memorial and record of the wartime efforts and sacrifices of the people of Great Britain and the Commonwealth. Upon its opening in 1920, its focus was on World War I, but its remit has since been extended to include World War II and subsequent military engagements. Adorable!

KENSINGTON PALACE: Kensington Palace has been home to royalty from long before Queen Victoria's birth there in 1819 to Princess Diana's residence until her death to today. Kensington Palace is still in use as a working Royal Residence, there are nonetheless many areas open to public viewing - and have been since Queen Victoria opened the State Apartments to the public in 1899. For me, the Kensington Palace is one of London's best places to get closer to British monarchs' lifestyles.

KEW GARDENS: The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, usually referred to simply as Kew Gardens, are extensive gardens and botanical glasshouses between Richmond upon Thames and Kew in southwest London, England. Kew Gardens originated in the exotic garden at Kew Park formed by Lord Capel of Tewkesbury, enlarged and greatly extended by Princess Augusta, the widow of Frederick, Prince of Wales, for whom Sir William Chambers built several garden structures, of which the lofty Chinese pagoda from 1761 remains.

LONDON AQUARIUM: Dive into an underwater world here at SEA LIFE London Aquarium, home to over 5,000 creatures. Explore London's flagship aquarium where you could learn something a-RAY-zing, spot a feeding frenzy or two and even meet some of our FIN-tastic friends. LONDON DUNGEON: Delve into the ancient capital's most horrible history at the London Dungeon experience live actors, thrilling rides and exciting special effects. THE LONDON EYE: Our Millennium Wheel is the first-built and largest observation wheel in the world (a type of or evolution on the Ferris wheel) and has been since its opening at the end of 1999. The London Eye stands 135 metres (443 feet) high on the western end of Jubilee Gardens, on the South Bank of the River Thames in Lambeth. The London Eye's wheel carries 32 sealed and air-conditioned passenger capsules attached to its external circumference. What a lovely air sightseeing attraction in the city.

ROMAN WALLS: The London Wall was the defensive wall first built by the Romans around Londinium in 250 AD, their strategically important port town on the River Thames in what is now London, England, and subsequently maintained until the 18th century. It is now the name of a road in the City of London running along part of the course of the old wall in Tower Hill. Until the later Middle Ages, the wall defined the boundaries of the City of London. Let's see and explore this masterpiece of Roman engineering.

LONDON ZOO: The new generation will immediately remember from the scene of the very first Harry Potter Movie The Philosopher's Stone, however, London Zoo goes back to Victorian eras. London Zoo was the world's first scientific zoo. It was opened in 1828 and was originally intended to be used as a collection for scientific study, it was eventually made open to the public in 1847. Today London Zoo houses a collection of more than 650 different species of animals. I have some historical facts for our zoo.

MADAME TUSSAUD'S: London Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum is one of the very few attractions in London that is both centuries-old and completely modern. Madame Tussaud learned her unusual craft of modelling figures in wax by creating death masks of those executed by guillotine in 18th and 19th century France. Among her 'clients' were Louis XVI and Marie Antionette. That mixture of precise art and macabre display is reflected in the modern museum - but with a much greater sense of fun!

THE MONUMENT OF THE GREAT FIRE OF LONDON: The Monument to the Great Fire of London, more commonly known simply as the Monument, is a Doric column in London, United Kingdom, situated near the northern end of London Bridge. Commemorating the Great Fire of London, it stands at the junction of Monument Street and Fish Street Hill, 202 feet (62 m) in height and 202 feet west of the spot in Pudding Lane where the Great Fire started on 2 September 1666. I'll take you back to that era, just follow me please.

NATIONAL GALLERY: The National Gallery is London's internationally renowned art gallery. located on the north side of Trafalgar Square. The National Gallery houses Western European paintings from 1250 to 1900 from the national art collection of Great Britain. The collection of paintings actually belongs to the British public. The National Gallery has grown to be a collection of international renown since its foundation in 1824. The best of all, I will be ready to accompany you on this lovely journey.

THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM: The Natural History Museum tour is a day of science and fun activities for all the family. Housing a staggering 70 million items, there are five main collections: Botany, Entomology, Mineralogy, Palaeontology and Zoology. The Museum is renowned for its exhibition of dinosaur skeletons in a particularly large gallery of Dinosaurs, including a spectacular Diplodocus and Tyrannosaurus Rex. We'll find the answers to such questions as who lived when and where, who were predators etc.

THE REGENT'S PARK: Regent's Park may be London's most beautiful and exuberant park. The Regent's Park is named after Prince Regent, sometimes known as the playboy prince, who later became King George IV (1762-1830). Our pleasure King who literally turned Windsor Castle into a pleasure palace. The Regent's Park combines large open spaces with tree-lined pathways, formal gardens, and four children's playgrounds. Let's take a stroll up Primrose Hill for excellent views of the London skyline shall we?

ROYAL ACADEMY OF ARTS: This shrine of art in London was founded through a personal act of King George III (The Father we call) on 10 December 1768 with a mission to promote the arts of design in Britain through education and exhibition. No wonder his son George IV is an art lover King of all times. RAA is universally renowned for hosting some of the London's finest temporary and touring exhibitions. Its annual Summer Exhibition, running since the institution first opened, displays great masterpieces.

SKY GARDEN: We, Londoners love giving nicknames. Even for the skyscrapers. Sky Garden is situated in our Walkie Talkie building offers an immaculate view of London. This is where you can have the Empire State or OWO feeling in London. The Sky Garden has been designed to create an open and vibrant place of relaxation away from the hubbub of the city, offering visitors a rare chance to experience London from a different perspective. The famous enlarged glass dome of 20 Fenchurch Street awaits us.

ROYAL OBSERVATORY GREENWICH: Greenwich Mean Time was at one time based on the time observations made at the Royal Greenwich Observatory, before being superseded by Coordinated Universal Time. Whether it's observing the stars, standing astride the Prime Meridian or marvelling at John Harrison's timepieces, the Royal Observatory Greenwich provides a treasure trove of fascinating information. Marvel at the history of space, time and navigation and of course, stand on the world-famous Meridian Line today!

SCIENCE MUSEUM: No trip to London would be complete without a visit to the Science Museum. This tour will take you through the building where you will be able to admire many incredible artifacts housed in various collections with exciting exhibitions for all ages. If you're a science lover, then a visit to London's Science Museum is a must, although you do not have to be a lover of chemistry or physics to appreciate the Museum as there are interactive attractions such as a 3D IMAX cinema and many more!

ST KATHARINE'S DOCK: St Katharine Docks is a former dock and now a mixed-used district in Central London, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and within the East End. It lies on the north bank of the River Thames, immediately downstream of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. From 1828 to 1968 it was one of the commercial docks that made up the Port of London. It is in the redevelopment zone known as Docklands, and is a popular housing and leisure complex with full of offices, houses etc. Follow me!

TOWER BRIDGE: (Nope, not London Bridge). Tower Bridge is probably city's most distinctive symbol for today. Bridge shows a lot to its medieval predecessor London Bridge with its starlings and elaborate twin towers that give the bridge its name but it's not just a homage to the past, hidden inside that medieval looking exterior there's a rather wonderful piece of Victorian engineering and in its day it was the biggest and most sophisticated lifting bridge in the world. TRAFALGAR SQUARE: Trafalgar Square is a very touristic public square with some of London's most popular attractions, from galleries and historic buildings to monuments and statues, you can be a witness of deep-seated British history. Square also holds a series of events all year round. Listen to the stories of the kings such as Charles I, Charles IV, Admiral Horatio Nelson, General Sir Charles James Napier and Major General Sir Henry Havelock who shaped the history of this nation. WESTMINSTER BRIDGE: Westminster Bridge is not an ordinary bridge to span the river Thames. It has a very tumultuous history in London. The bridge's colour is green and the story of the bridge is colourful. We will tell you about the history of the bridge after Lady Boudicca's role in London's 2000-year-old history. THE WINDSOR CASTLE: Windsor is not just a castle. Windsor has been many things, a home to medieval chivalry, royal elegancy and the home of British traditions. Windsor is the oldest and the largest inhabited castle in the world attracting millions of visitors from the world. Half-day tour to Royal Windsor Castle and Historic Town

The trip is a half day to oldest/longest inhabited castle in the world, more than 900 years old. Visit inside of the Castle containing many treasures, the essence of a medieval castle, overlooking beautiful River Thames and 5000 acre Windsor Great Park. It is a huge building, the former Queen spent most of her "off duty" time in private apartments here. Much to see in the large public areas and "State Apartments", crammed full of valuable furniture, world class paintings, artefacts, armour. Castle is situated in the heart of the ancient old town of Windsor, with buildings dating back nearly 600 years in a warren of alleyways.

The compact town lends itself to exploration. It is possible to stroll by the River, visit famous adjacent village of Eton, known for its world famous school.
Castle is closed to visitors each week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Welcome to my home town of London. Built on layers of history my tour will peel away each one and transport you back almost 2000 years to the Romans from the comfort of my iconic black taxi. And what makes good history if not a great story of which I proudly have many to share - royal scandals, treason, traditions and the history behind many commonly used sayings and idioms.

Transporting us through to modern day London the tour will get up close to all famous landmarks and buildings that make up London's iconic skyline today. Upon departing your hotel we will head west towards Stonehenge, an UNESCO World Heritage site. The stone circle has been on this site for over 4, 500 years and is one of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe.

Once we depart Stonehenge we will return to the lovely town of Windsor.
Windsor Castle has been home to royalty for more than 900 years. It is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. It really is a fascinating place and there is always something new to discover!

Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it has since been the home of 39 monarchs. Today The Queen spends most of her private weekends at the Castle.

The Castle is at the top of a steep hill, and the visitor route covers long distances.

Upon departure from Windsor, we return to London to your hotel or other agreed location.

Please Note: St George's Chapel is closed on Sundays as it is used for worship.

Day Tour to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle

Sometimes you pack so much into a day you don't have time to stop. Before you can appreciate one place you've got to move onto the next. This tour is different. I give you extra time in the Tower and the Abbey, so you'll see more and get great value. Want to enjoy a leisurely lunch in between? Let's ditch the rushed sandwich and find a traditional pub.

On this full but relaxed day we'll meet at London's castle, the Tower of London. As a licensed Blue Badge Guide I can take you right in and tell you tales of royalty, executions, torture, spectres, escapes, and the Crown Jewels.

We'll then catch a boat westwards, where you can sit on deck and soak up the sights along the River Thames. After embarking at Westminster Pier we can enjoy a pub lunch before we visit the Abbey. I can also guide you around this gothic masterpiece and show you one of the best views in London. Not everyone does this!

The afternoon ends at Horseguards, where we can get close to 4 O'Clock Parade. I'll explain...

When most people think of The Beatles, Liverpool is the city that springs to mind, and for good reason too. They were all born there, grew up, met each other and in the later years, places in Liverpool gave them the inspiration for songs such as Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields.

So why is there a Beatles in London Tour I here you ask? Once they had been discovered by Brian Epstein his next job was to secure them a recording contract. London was where all the record companies had their offices. The audition with Decca resulted in a "sorry boys, we think guitar music is not going to take off, we are going to concentrate on solo acts. "

This tour can be arranged around you so you finish in a great location for your afternoon plans, feel free to send me your bespoke requests. We'll start with the main sights around Buckingham Palace and Horse Guards seeing the guards movements between 3 locations*
and with beautiful St James Park, possibly one of my favourite Royal Parks in Central London.

After Westminster, Big Ben and Abbey, we will move our tour onto the West End area, enjoying the buzz of Trafalgar Square, National Gallery (see inside + some paintings), Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Soho where you have many lunch options to choose

Finish at Covent Garden with a local pub if you wish. You can continue your afternoon at the market stalls or I can walk you to the British Museum if you wish.

Oxford and the Cotswolds : One Day Private Driving Tour from London

We travel with a professional driver out to visit some of the most picturesque Cotswolds villages and Oxford or Blenheim Palace.

I have been visiting the Cotswolds since I was a child and its beauty never disappoints. This customised tour includes visits to a selection of picture postcard Cotswold villages. We will see cottages, churches and pubs built with local stone in this area of outstanding natural beauty. Also, villages with links to the world of TV and film, like Downton Abbey, and other unspoilt villages on the back roads well off the beaten track.

After some lunch in a pub or cafe, we head into Oxford to explore this university 'City of Dreaming Spires' with its colleges, parks, castle and indoor market, there is much to discover and those interested in history, culture and Harry Potter will not be disappointed.

We return to London early evening.
