Old London Half Day Tour

To many visitors London means Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. There is another side to the city - a bit of a darker side that does appeal to me, as there is so much to see and so many stories to tell. The East End of London is perhaps notorious around the world as a neighbourhood with a challenging history associated with poverty and crime. Fortunately today it is a vibrant area that is a pleasure to walk around whilst exploring its colourful past through stories and the beautiful houses and churches that have escaped the developers' bulldozers. Many stories to tell, some happy, some a bit frightening, and lots to see. For example delightful 300 year old streets and dark alleys that hide dreadful secrets. Fortunately there are also opportunities for some retail therapy at the many unique boutiques that trade in the old market and maybe some refreshment in a traditional 'pub'.
