There are around 700 years of history at this wonderful moated castle that was the childhood home of Henry Vlll's second wife Anne Boleyn. The rooms of this fine castle contain fine furniture, tapestries, antiques, an important collection of Tudor paintings and two prayer books inscribed and signed by Anne Boleyn herself. If that's not good enough just wait until you see the 125 acres of award-winning gardens. We also visit Chartwell, the home of one of Britain's greatest prime minister Sir Winston Churchill. The rooms remain much as they were when he lived here, with pictures, books and personal memento are evoking the career and wide-ranging interests of a great statesman, writer, painter and family man. Winston Churchill was also a great painter and his studio on the grounds of the estate have been kept just as he left them in 1965. This tour takes in a historic castle and a grand stately home. PLEASE NOTE: Chartwell is closed until 24th February.
Leave London at 9:30 am Visit Chartwell. The home of Sir Winston Churchill. Lunch (possibly in a country pub) Visit Hever Castle. The childhood home of Anne Bolyen, the second wife of Henry Vlll. Return to London between around 6pm.
