Greenwich is a great day out from the centre of London and not far. If arriving by boat from the town centre, it takes one hour by river transport where you can see the London skyline and get a brilliant idea of the city layout. I will then take you from Greenwich pier on arrival to see a wide variety of historical treats, from the vast campus of buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren in the late 1600's, to include the town centre, its attractive arts, crafts, and food market. There is a famous ship to clamber over if you wish built and Launched in 1869 and one of the last entirely sail operated tea clipper. In addition there are several National Museum buildings which cover British naval history. Finally and not least you can stand astride the Greenwich Meridian at the Royal Observatory at zero longitude where east meets west. There is a fine Royal Observatory museum dedicated to the concept of time, and navigation which is so important to safe travel and trade. A challenge solved in Britain
