London has been my home for over 30 years and every time I visit the centre of the city I discover a new piece of its remarkable history. It is a special place and truly has something for everyone. You will see, at close quarters, London's highlights - royal palaces, impressive state buildings in Westminster, the buzzing shopping and entertainment areas of The West End and see London's lifeline, the River Thames. You will gain an insight into the ancient City of London's fascinating history and hear incredible stories from its past. On this customised tour there are opportunities to explore and take photos of those iconic sights. We can stop for coffee/tea and also find a great place for lunch in a typical London pub or cafe or maybe have a picnic in one of London's beautiful parks or open spaces. Many choose to stay in town in the evening to see a show
This tour can be customised to suit your preferences but here is an example of a typical day:- - Pick up from your accommodation, we travel through Hyde Park, past Kensington Palace, the Royal Albert Hall and stop for photos then up to Marble Arch and down through chic Mayfair to Piccadilly Circus. - From Trafalgar Square to the Mall and Buckingham Palace for more photos then continue to the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, where many famous Brits are buried. We then travel down Whitehall past Downing Street and make our way towards the old City of London. - After lunch in a typical London pub or coffee/tea shop in a Victorian market, we pass through the City, then on to St Paul's Cathedral and into the financial heart of London. You will see where the Great Fire of London started, pass Roman walls and then up to The Tower of London via The Bank of England, Leadenhall Market and the oldest church in the City, All Hallows, with its American links, before returning to your accommodation.
