Choose a tour of the highlights of the British Museum or the highlights of the National Gallery, with an experienced professional Blue Badge guide. ( the highest qualification in the UK, after 2 years study and rigorous exams). I have been trained thoroughly as a guide to guide in both these most important museums of London. Come on a tour de Force with me, you will love it as I bring it all to life for you. In the National Gallery, I offer a fascinating tour of priceless world-famous paintings by European artists including England, Flanders, Italy, and Spain from the 13 C up to 20 C. Look at the paintings and hear the fascinating stories which will make you understand them better. Jan Van Eyck, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Hans Holbein the Tudor court painter, Velasquez, the French impressionists, Monet's Givenchy waterlily pond and Van Gogh sunflowers. Amongst the English we will cover William Turner and Constable's stunning landscapes and much more. . . .
I will meet you at the museum entrance, depending on your choice of museum. Your knowledgeable guide will give you an overview of the museum and do a guided tour of the highlights (must- see) art works and historic objects on display. -The National museum is London's art museum of European painters from the13 C to the French Impressionists. There are many works by British artists too. I will bring the paintings to life by telling you all about its creators, style and why they are famous in historic contexts. -At the British Museum, you can see historic treasures and objects from cultures from all over the world including the Rosetta Stone, Assyrian lion hunt, Egyptian mummies, and a large part of the Greek Parthenon. Upstairs I will tell you all about Britain's history by showing you objects of Roman, Anglo-Saxon, Viking and medieval Britain. Both places have nice souvenir stores and I can recommend places of interest in the area for after your visit.
