This tours take you through some of Orkney's famous Neolithic sites including , Skara Brae, Standing Stones of Stenness and Ring of Brodgar (drive by), and the village of Twatt! On to Kirkwall for a short walk down the main street to the Catedral. We then have a drive with scenic views of the sheltered waters of Scapa Flow which was used by the British Navy during both World Wars and the final resting place of HMS Royal Oak.
Drive from Stromness to the cliffs at Yesnaby and on to Skara Brae (5, 000 year old neolithic village) on north to Birsay for lunch, after drive through Twatt and on passed the Ring of Brodgar towards the Standing Stones of Stenness (the oldest stone circle in the UK) Head east to Kirkwall with a short walk along the shops to the cathedral. Drive along the north shore of Scapa Flow (a natural harbourand home to the British navy in both world wars) Onwards to Stromness with a little time to stroll the streets before heading back on the ferry.
