Your excursion can be completely customised, but the standard schedule includes visiting sandy beaches, ancient monuments, charming fishing villages as well as great local food and some wildlife spotting along the way!
From Invergordon, we will take the quieter road out to the charming fishing village of Portmahomack to visit the Tarbat Discovery Centre to learn about the Picts - a people who lived in the area from around 400 to 900AD. We'll work our way along this peninsula visiting a great example of a post "clearance" village, magnificent carved standing stones as well as an old church with some great history! From here, we'll cross the narrow entrance of the Cromarty Firth, looking out for the largest Bottlenose Dolphins in the world, and visit the picturesque village of Cromarty where you'll have time to wander the cobbled vennels and various small craft and art galleries. Along the Black Isle, we will have options to visit Fairy glen (45 min walk) or go out to Chanonry Point for another chance to see the dolphins who hunt in the area. We'll then make our way round and back to the ship via another road, allowing you to take in some amazing views looking West!
