Overview of your Greenock tour:

The pretty seaside town of Largs on the Clyde Coast is my home town. I was raised here, still live here today and take great pride in showing you around the surrounding area. Largs attracts families and visitors from far and wide. You can enjoy fish and chips from the "Fishworks" in a relaxed environment with the best views of Firth of Clyde. Nardini's art deco Café, world famous for its ice cream is not to be missed and families and kids can visit and meet real Vikings at the award winning "Vikingar" where I once worked as a storyteller. A 10 minute ferry crossing from Largs pier takes us to the Island of Great Cumbrae and the town of Millport where there are safe beaches for kids. We drive around the island wildlife spotting, visit the highest point and see "Lion" and "Crocodile" rocks. There is a variety of indoor attractions, the Museum of the Cumbraes and the aquarium at the Marine Research Station are favourites. The Cathedral of the Isles Europe's smallest Cathedral is a must see!

Your Greenock tour itinerary

A short scenic journey brings us to the beautiful seaside town of Largs where I was raised. Upon arrival in Largs we will take the ferry over to the idyllic isle of Great Cumbrae. On disembarking from the ferry, we head to the "Gladestane" on the summit for panoramic photos across the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran before driving round the island to see wildlife, passing the Marine research station and stopping at the natural rock formations known as "Lion Rock" and "Crocodile Rock" Next, we arrive in Millport taking time for a walk before visits to the Cathedral of the isles and the Museum of the Cumbraes. Return to Largs for lunch at Nardinis or Fishworks, then onwards passing Kelburn Castle and stopping for photos at "The Pencil" monument, site of the last Viking battle in 1263. Visit to Vikingar and stop at a panoramic viewpoint. There is time for some local shopping in Largs if you wish before returning to your ship or hotel. Please message me to customize this tour.
