The tour visits some of the key locations used in the filming of TV's Poldark, starring Aiden Turner. We will travel the stunning coastal road around the Penwith Peninsula, taking in the the settings for Wheal Leisure, the Poldark mine; the beach where the famous swimming scene was filmed; the real-life village used as the village of Saul and many others. We will walk on the clifftop paths where many of the key scenes take place and stop for refreshments at the hidden cafe that fed the cast and crew on one of the night shoots. Many would argue that the scenery is one of the stars of the show and this tour will prove that point! I have many hours with my family exploring this area and discovering the history of the Cornish mining industry and would love to share it with you. This tour is not just for Poldark fans - the scenery is stunning and will take your breath away - make sure your camera or phone batteries are fully charged. Several of these locations are not visited by bus tours - they don't fit!
* Pick up from your hotel and travel to St Ives * 30 minute drive via the scenic coast road to Botallack * 30 minutes to explore the site on foot with me including photographing the iconic Crown Engine Houses. Excellent National Trust information centre on site (also does refreshments) * 30 minute drive to Porthgwarra * 1 hour to explore Porthgwarra Cove and Gwennap Head with me on foot plus visit the excellent tea room. * 15 minute drive to Porthcurno * 30 minutes to explore Porthcurno and the Minack Theatre * 15 minute drive to Penberth Cove * 30 minutes to explore on foot with me * 1 hour drive to the Lizard Peninsula - we go via Mounts Bay with views of St Michael's Mount. We can stop and explore here if you wish. * 30 minutes to explore/photograph Church Cove including the "Church of the Storms" and Dollar Cove - hear how it got it's name. * 30 minute drive to Kynance Cove to finish before returning to your hotel As with all my tours, this one can be adapted to suit your requirements
