A short journey from here, through the tranquil and picturesque countryside, we'll arrive at the village of Corfe, its castle, some of the most impressive ruins in England, impressivley silhoutted against the skyline.

Corfe is an idyllic village in the clouds & the majestic ruins of the medieval castle are equally impressive. Corfe castle is one of several fortresses built by William the Conquerer in the 1070s. Stonehenge - Private Tour from Portland Cruise Ship

One of Britain's most famous monuments is just over 1. 5 hours drive from the Portland Cruise Dock.

I will drive you to and from Stonehenge. I have visited Stonehenge over 200 times and it never ceases to impress me! Knowing the stories and theories behind the stones really enhances a visit so I will share these with you.

I will explain about Stonehenge's history and its unusual stories including a man from Florida and a bottle of Port! I have attended talks by archaeologists who have excavated at Stonehenge and I will share with you their latest discoveries.

We will spend approx. 1. 5 - 2 hours at Stonehenge giving us plenty of time to see the Visitor Centre, walk around the stone circle and take photos.

On our return to Portland we will stop for lunch at a pub. The whole experience will take just under 8 hours. The start time is flexible and the tour can be customised to include other attractions e. g. Salisbury Cathedral and the 1215 Magna Carta - please message me to discuss.

In 1765, a kitchen garden was created by the first Countess of Ilchester, boasting large rhododendron and hydrangea collections and a glorious Victorian garden.
Abbotsbury is world-famous for its camellia groves, magnolias, rhodenendren and Hydrangea collections.

A pleasant drive through the idyllic southern english countryside, gently rolling hills and patchwork fields brings us to Bovington Military camp, the headquarters of the Royal Armoured Corps and once the site of tank crew training during World War I.

As well as being Dorset's largest indoor attraction, The Tank Museum holds the broadest and most historically significant collection of tanks (over 300!) in the world, including the first working prototype tank and the world's only running Tiger I.

The museum tells the story of tanks and the men who served in them through powerful exhibitions and interactive displays.

Returning to the port we pass through the quaint easide town of Weymouth, King George III's favourite holiday destination and usually we have time for some views of the dramatic Jurassic Coast.
