Together we will explore the timeless wonders of the city known as "The Mother of England" - Canterbury, home to three UNESCO Heritage Sites. From the Romans to the Vikings, the Tudors to the present day, this is one of the world's most fascinating places. I am a licensed Canterbury Green Badge Guide, and I never get tired of sharing its magic. After exploring 2000+ years of fascinating history, we will make our way to the iconic Canterbury Cathedral - I will show you around the precincts and cloisters, and a private Cathedral Guide will show you the interiors. This is a fully-customisable tour - let's make it your perfect day out!
Making our way through England's largest medieval gate, I'll tell you the most fascinating stories from the city's ancient and contemporary past. We will visit: - The Crooked House - The Marlowe Theatre - Buttermarket - St Thomas's Catholic Church - Butchery Lane - Burgate - Statues of Queen Bertha and King Ethelbert - Statues of Geoffrey Chaucer and Aphra Behn Next, we will visit one of the world's most iconic places of worship, Canterbury Cathedral. Finally, I will point out more delightful sights before walking back to Canterbury West Station. (I can also arrange a taxi for you from the Cathedral back to the station). We can also include a visit to the Roman Museum, St Augustine's Abbey and/or the oldest church in the English-speaking world - St Martin's. If you would like lunch or pub stops, this is possible too! *Please note - train tickets are not included in this tour. Please reach out in advance for advice on booking.

Canterbury West Train Station - if coming from London, the best option is to take the high speed train from St Pancras Station. This is 1 hour and approximately £27 per person roundtrip if departing after 10am. If you are coming by car, I can meet you at any carpark.
