We will stroll in the centre of the city to see the key sites such as the Castle, the exterior of the City Hall and arcades, and then we will drive to Caerphilly Castle, the largest ruined castle in South Wales. This mighty castle with its metres thick walls was built more quickly than most houses are built today! Just imagine the workforce needed in 13th century.

If you only have one day then this is the tour for you! Starting at your hotel in Bath we cover all the main spots with a focus on the North Cotswolds as this is where many of the most famous and beautiful towns and villages are. All the major spots are easily covered in one day with plenty of time for stopping off and enjoying the scenery and atmosphere. The days itinerary is flexible so places can be added to the tour or certain spots missed depending on time and your preferences.

As a guide it is my absolute pleasure to run this tour as my favourite of all because in only three day of sightseeing and history, we visit and immerse in so many of the sites of ancient pre industrial South Wales.

An early start on each day and we will see ruined castles, monasteries, ancient hill forts, standing stones, hidden churches and wizard's caves, mountains and waterfalls, beautiful beaches and the outstanding natural beauty and the splendour of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the Brecon Beacons National Park and the delights of St. Davids and St. Govans. Travelling by comfortable minivan we visit sites off of the beaten track, which means there is some walking involved and there are many uneven steps especially in the castles and older monuments. The itinerary is very flexible and open to change due to the weather and road conditions on the day.

Celtic Wales: 3 Day Myths & Legends Tour

STONEHENGE is a world-famous prehistoric monument designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. I first visited it as a teenager when I picnicked amongst the stones. It now receives more than 1. 5 million visitors per annum.

The attractive city of SALISBURY which received its charter in 1227 is just 8 miles from Stonehenge. It has been an administrative, commercial, &amp; religious center since medieval times. A traditional market is still held every Tuesday &amp; Saturday throughout the year.

The cathedral is a fine example of Early English architecture dating from the 13th century with a spire that is the highest in the UK. It contains the world's oldest working clock (1386) and it houses the best-preserved of the 4 surviving copies of the Magna Carta.

To avoid overcrowding entry to Stonehenge &amp; Salisbury Cathedral is by timed ticket, bookable online in advance. You can do this yourself or I can do this on your behalf and include it in the cost of the tour, but please message me BEFORE booking.

The Wolds are the rolling hills and green valleys in the heart of England; perfect pasture land for grazing the sheep, which were prized for their luxurious fleece. Wool brought great wealth to the area and it was the rich wool merchants of medieval England that built the fine towns and villages that we see today. In the 1300s King Edward III decreed that the Chancellor of England should sit on a wool sack in parliament made from Cotswold wool , so important was it to the economy of England. Still there today

I love this part of the country! It is so picturesque with it's quaint villages and magnificent wool churches with stunning Romanesque architecture, tombs of kings and princes, Come with me along The Fosse Way one of the principal Roman roads to really get into the Heart of England. Mystery meets majesty on this day out to Glastonbury and Wells

Glastonbury is so special where can I start - steeped in mystery and legend it is said to be the true Isle of Avalon and the final burial place of King Arthur and Guinevere. The Abbey is said to be the first in the country founded by the uncle of Jesus and is home to the mysterious Glastonbury Thorn a tree which flowers at Christmas - the Queen is always sent a blossom for her breakfast plate.
Centre of lay lines, scared geometry, Glastonbury Tor stands out above the Somerset levels, seen for miles around. To this day modern pilgrims make the steep climb in search of earth energies.
And then to Wells for the majesty of the great Gothic Cathedral that towers above the pretty market place. Dating from the 12th Century this monumental church has the finest collection of medieval statuary in the country as well as tales of bishops and bodies, one of the world's oldest clocks and the oldest street in Europe. Hike The Home Of Cheddar Cheese At Cheddar Gorge On A 6 Hour Tour from Bath

This hike across Cheddar Gorge is one of my favourite tours.
As part of a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there are stunning views all round and I love the fact that walking the Gorge is to walk through millions of years of the earth's geological history. No wonder then that Cheddar Gorge is regarded as one of the greatest natural wonders in Britain and for Lord of the Rings Fans the inspiration for Helm's Deep.
The hike is at your own pace and there are plenty of opportunities to stop for some great photos. and stories including a view of Glastonbury and tales of King Arthur and Guinevere. As we go, I can explain the different ancient environments from hot deserts to arctic tundra that created the gorge.
