This day tour will give you a glimpse of Kampala checking out many cultural sights. I will take you to the Buganda Kingdom Palace in Mengo, we will visit two faith based institutions and the Bahai Temple, a place of worship for the bahai. Then we will cross over to the Uganda matrys shrine in Namugongo for the catholics. After these, we change focus to visit the Ssezibwa falls, a historic place with a story on how the river Ssezibwa was formed where we will have lunch. We then drive back into Kampala to a market visit at the National theater where visitors can access crafts and our local foods. This is a typical tour for the one who does not live in Uganda and is visiting with some time to spare. It will end up in a shopping spree.
- I will pick you up from your hotel at 9 am after your breakfast. - We head to Bulange Mengo to have a tour of the Kabaka of Buganda's palace and residence. This is a historical symbol and where the Lukiiko (Parliament of Buganda) sits. We will also visit Gadafi Mosque on this same hill. - We head out through Makerere Hill, then to Bahai Temple (also known as the mother temple of Africa and formally as the house of worship for the Bahai) located on the Kikaya Hill. The design harmonies closely with the shape of a traditional hut. - We then head out to the Uganda Matyrs catholic shrine in Namugongo where each matyr has a pillar named after them. There is also a manmade lake here which we will get explanations about. - As Lunch time draws near, we move out of town to Mukono to see the thundering Ssezibwa falls to the point at which the River Ssezibwa starts. Here we will also have our lunch. - In the afternoon, we return to Kampala to visit and see the markets, one of which is at the National Theater.
