Pergamon is one of the popular UNESCO site in Turkey. Trajanus Temple at the top of the mountain which charms me with its magnificent looking which was called as throne of Devil in the Roman period. The acropolis monuments are standing on the heaped terraces, you'll be impressed with the engineering level of the Romans. We will speak about the altar of Zeus which stands in Berlin, Germany today. Christianity expanded in Asia Minor and Pergamon played such an important role. We will speak about Christianity in roman period while visiting the Red Basilica. Visit Asklepion and speak about the ancient medical treatments and therapies. Then back to the ship.
I'll meet you at Izmir then driving to Bergama. Reach to Pergamon Acropolis by a cable car. Highlights of Pergamon Acropolis that we are visiting are just as below, -The Theatre -Arsenal -Trajan Temple and terracing halls -Basement of Zeus Altar -Athena Stoa *We will have a traditional lunch at a local Turkish restaurant. See The Red Basilica first which was built as a Pagan temple BC then converted a church then a mosque by Turks. -Visit Asklepion campus with incubation rooms, bathing pools, theatre, treatment rooms for operations and tunnel. Tour ends at the port.
