A joyful drive along the coast of Aegean passing through one of the major cities in Turkey, Izmir and later along by some fishing villages and olive groves, too. It's Upper City ( Ancient Acropolis) will reveal itself on the highest point of the hill from 15 kms distance way before you enter the modern town. You will admire the scenery of this authentic town once sat on the hilltops of the acropolis. Pergamon will leave an unorgettable taste with it's unique cuisine. Once entering the town of Bergama, a person can not avoid feeling oneself in the antiquity because in every corner either an Ancient Egytptian Temple, a Church, an Ancient Hospital or a 500 year old Turkish Bath can bee decorating sidewalks of this epic town.
The Acropolis of Pergamon City | Duration of Visit :1, 5hrs: What to Expect! | Temple of Trajan | Hellenistic Theater | Temple of Dionysos | City Walls are the highlights of the Acropolis. And you will also be able to see the remains from its famous Library | Foundations of Temple of Athena and also Foundations remains from the world-famous Altar of Zeus which is exhibited today at Pergamon Museum in Berlin, Germany. If you feel energetic enough to take 15 mins. walk down to Building Z, you will be able to see some extra-ordinary floor mosaics. the walk back up is the tricky and tiring part but it's worth doing. -This is a suggested itinerary, let me know what you would like to see and do and I will customize the tour accordingly!
