Termessos- Dream of Alexander the Great!

I describe Termessos as a paradise for one who loves history, nature and archeology. Here all three in one!Hidden high in a rugged mountain valley, 34km northwest of Antalya, lies the ruined but still massive ancient city of Termessos. Neither Greek nor Lycian, the inhabitants were Pisidian, fierce and prone to warring. They successfully fought off Alexander the Great in 333 BC, and the Romans (perhaps wisely) accepted Termessos' wishes to remain independent and an ally in 70 BC. The site gives an impression as if the city was abandoned 60-70 years ago. Despite I have been to Termesssos hundreds of times still I am excited to see it again. By the way it si one of the fantastic places for bird-watching in certain periods of the year.
